A couple of days ago we asked you to vote on the Code Geass Character you hated the most. So we thought that it was only fair to give the same treatment to the other Mecha phenomenon of the season - Macross Frontier. Here are 10 choices, vote for the character you find the most annoying.
You see that dude in the background with the purple afro? He would have mode the list if we knew his name. Who the hell has a purple ‘fro?
Alto Saotome
Sure there’s a lot to like about Alto….. (thinking)… um…. We’ll we can’t think of any, cause we’re Anti Alto. So here is what we detest about this “man”.
- He’s not a man. Just look at him, he’s too pretty to be a man. He needs a haircut.
- He’s got to be most indecisive mecha pilot hero ever. Dammit, just pick either Sheryl or Ranka already. If Hikaru was around, he would have slapped Alto 10 times over by now for being a dink.
- He doesn’t have the same level of burning passion as other mecha pilots. And when you combine this with Alto’s dull personality, this because a real problem.
We’re not gonna suggest Alto is the worse Mecha hero pilot, but we’ve wouldn’t vote against the idea either.
Ouch - he so sparkley he hurts our eyes!
Ranka Lee
Up until episode 20 we were big fans of Ranka. But after her Linn Minmay diva moment in episode 20, we’ve dropped her a few notches. If your anti Ranka, it could be because she’s rather immature. Or perhaps it’s because you think her signing is garish - hard to argue if you have ever seen the Nyan Nyan Dance. Either way you would have a valid reason.
Sheryl Nome
Sheryl certainly has a lot of assets but she probably has just as many liabilities. If you’re a Sheryl hater it could be because of her diva attitude. She can be quite the demanding debutant at times. Some also disapprove of her scantily clad clothing choices. Correction that’s when she wears clothes - won’t somebody think of the children (yes! First Simpsons quote). Don’t let that fact that she may be dying deter you from voting for her.
Luca Angeloni
We personally find Luca’s uselessness annoying. Can anyone tell us what his role is here in the series? We gather he’s supposed to be some kind of genius, but we haven’t seen him doing anything remotely brilliant. Also - what’s up with he’s ever present blush? And exactly how the hell did he out live Michael?
Klan Klan
Just for the record here is our view on Klan Klan. Regular Klan - a warrior and hot, Micron Klan - moe and not. If you find Klan to be annoying be sure to let us know which version. The micron Klan’s voice is like vocal poison to us. But maybe you’re the type who hates regular Klan and her enormous size breasts.
Grace O’Conner
It’s hard to hate a good villain, and Grace is good. She’s a cyborg and transcendent. Which means you may not be able to kill her. But if your Anti-Grace is it because of her immortal-ness (We know immortal-ness is not a word. But we’ve never paid mind to spelling and grammar before so why start now?). But we would understand that your find her annoying because the story surrounding her is so damn confusing.
Leon Mishima
Let us say this right off the bat. We find Leon Mishima to be very very annoying. Why? His hair. Mishima’s hair cut is our nominee for worst hair-do in anime today. It’s basically a bad Beatles haircut from the 60’s. But that’s not the only reason we find him annoying. The scumbag slept with Catherine even while plotting to kill her farther. That’s pretty low if you ask us. And he’s also the type of Villain who doesn’t get his hands dirty because he’s got not tangible skills. We hope he dies a slow painful death… exploding diarrhea would be our choice.
Brera Sterne
PEB (Purple Emo Boy) is a fan favorite of many. And judging by the amount of Alto x Brera doujinshi that’s emerging, many people are starting to dig the hot PEB action. But some people may find his emo-ness too much to bear-era (hahaha get it …okay that was just funny to us). And his potential imouto-complex certainly doesn’t help things.
Bobby Margot
Hands up if you had no idea that Bobby’s last name was Margot? We think Bobby is hilarious, but we argue the point that he is an unfavorable, stereo typically portrayal of gays. He is rather flaming when you step back and think about.

After mulling over it for a few minutes, I finally had to pick Altoid (as I call Alto). It was a toss up between he and Luca. While Luca does seem to be useless to the overall plot, I don’t feel as inclined to slap him around nearly as much as Altoid. While he has his moments, they can end up being overshadowed by his inability to choose between Ranka and Sheryl. At this rate that little triangle may be decided for him.
And an honorable mention for most annoying - Ranka’s original manager Elmo.

Leon wins purely because of his hair and ugliness for me. If he appears on screen for even a second I feel like smacking him right back off. But alas, this cannot be done.
