After last week’s crushing defeat a recap episode of Macross Frontier has left the door open for Geass to claim victory this week.
As per normal, we’ll take a look at both episode in 3 categories to find out who come out on top during this week’s pudding fight.
Story
Even though Frontier was a recap episode this week it did have some important plot reveals. Namely the group that is actually running the show is some head master esque foursome that only exist on the plane of consciousness? And one of the foursome is that cougar - Grace, version 2 that is. Apparently the group is big time into voyeurism. They have taken video of Sheryl, Ranka and Alto in all sorts of states. We give it even odds that this group has shower scenes of these three as well. Bunch of perverted cougars and manthers this bunch. So besides learning who’s running the show what else did we learn in this pseudo recap episode? Well the other infamous shadow figure - Richard Pillard entered the big stage. Besides having a fetish for model trains, he seems to be a good guy and seems will have an important role to play. If this guy existed in our world we get the sense he would be a Gundam Otaku.
Very Matrix-esc don’t you think?
Code Geass obviously has to win this category as it had a decent amount of plot development. The big reveal was definitely CC’s wish. Honestly it made sense to us that her wish was to die. Did you notice the parallel that the giver of Geass and the receiver of Geass have to the Sith master - apprentice relationship. In order for CC to die one of her apprentices has to become a strong Geass user and kill her. In order for a Sith apprentice to truly become a master, they kill their master. Still even though CC’s wish made sense, it felt kinda sleaze - she’d whored the Geass to so many people, and isn’t Charles VV’s apprentice. And if she just wanted to die, why did she help Lelouch all this time? Seems to us that she probably feels something else for him. So the big question is what happened at the end. It looks like while CC didn’t die, she did lose all of her Geass power, and reverted back to the state before she first received the power.
Nice to also see that Suzaku hasn’t gone completed to the dark side. He didn’t use the refrain on Kallen (who still looks hot in that dress).
Also nice to see Ougi and Villetta back together again for a short time. And doesn’t Sayako’s dress remind you bit of Mary Poppins? Quick - someone get her an umbrella.
Okay we want complete honesty here. How many of you actually believed Charles was dead when he shot himself. We didn’t believe it for a second considering how often we saw CC shot over the past two seasons and survive. Charles - otherwise known as Evil Santa is one power hungry dude, but couldn’t have Lelouch minimized him by shooting him in the eyes. True he would still have the code of Geass, but it’s a start.

Enough said
Winner: Code Geass R2 15
Creepy, very creepy
Mecha Action
Little to no mecha action in R2 EP 15 this week. Did want to mention though that the new intro does make it seem that Suzaku and Kallen are fightening along side one another.
So we guess Frontier wins by default, because it did have some mecha action - granted it was in the form of a recap. But recap or not, the battle scenes still look amazing. We are hoping that Pillard is some kinda mecha genius and he upgrades Alto’s fighter.
Winner: Frontier
Can’t beat this sh!t
Fangasmic
Macross Frontier showcased a differently kinda of battle this week, that being a battle of song. Ranka and Sheryl faced off this week is a battle of song and dance for the affections of one blue haired princess. Ranka ultimately wins the battle by default since Sheryl is diseased.
how soon before we see the Sheryl x Ranka Doujinshi?
Geass wins though because we found it a more enjoyable watch this week. Is it us or did Lelouch almost admit to loving CC. And you know what, now that CC has reverted back to a normal girl she actually has a decent chance of ending up with Lulu…. We’ll if it wasn’t for the fact that Lelouch will probably die by the end. And an interesting situation to see, would be who Lelouch would save if both Kallen and CC were in trouble?
Also add to this an another interesting part of EP 15 that Prince Schnitzel, we mean Schneizel is plotting something on his own, and it doesn’t look to be in line with his farthers plans either.
