Sometimes in life, the unexpected or unintentionally moments are the funniest. Like the other day Kira was typing up the hottest girls in anime post, Asuna cracked open a box of maple cream cookies. That’s when Kira remarked - “You know those maple cookies smell like homelessness.” The comment besides being nonsensical was completely unintentionally funny.
Didn’t think Allison to Lillia had comedy offer? Guess again…
And the same applies to anime. Sometimes you’ll find a scene that’s supposed to be dramatic unintentionally funny. Allows us to present exhibit A - Allison to Lillia - EP 8.
Allow us to cue up the scene for you. The Major and Fiona have just touched down and confronted Congressman Owen in front of a large crowd. Fiona has just provided proof to the crowd that she is in fact the heir to the throne of Itskova - Princess Francesca (she’ not really - she’s her twin sister, the real princess was killed by Owen). And has revealed to the crowd that it was Owen who broke into the royal palace 10 years ago and killed the Royal family and burned the palace to the Ground. - Heavy emotional stuff right?
But what transpires next made us giggle and here is why. Watch this scene and ask yourself the following…
- Why does the Major and the Head security dude do nothing when Owen attempts to grab Fiona and takes her hostage. Owen was like 6 feet away from Fiona, and the major and warren were both inches away from Fiona. They both just have this shocked looked on their faces - you saw the dude coming guys, all you had to do was step in front of Fiona.
- How is Owen able to outrun the Major when he’s dragging along a 20 year old girl? It seems that the Major is more out of shape than he looks we guess.
- When Owen uses all his strength and goes to stab the Major he blocks it with his watch. Um…. Shouldn’t the knife go through a watch like that, and not just crack the glass?
- How exactly does Allison create a gust of wind with her propeller that blows away Owen, but has no effect on the Major of Fiona.
Allison to Lillia does story telling really well, and action scenes not involving planes really poorly. But we still like the series and are still watching it. Unintentional comedy, gotta love it.

Definitely unintentional comedy. You might also want to add Owen having 2 large knives at his own conference to the list. I found that quite hilarious
