The dreams are for kissing episode. Plus is this show entering shouta territory?
Why is Hitler boy still on the show?
30 Second Summary
- Taking Kotoko’s suggestion, Naoki Irie decided to become a doctor. He takes the entrance exam, and passes on the first try.
- Kotoko has a doctor x nurse fantasy.
- The whole gang (Kotoko, Irie, Yuuki, Sado, Masumato & Masumato’s sister) head to Romance Village for spring break. Apparently romance villages are for family in Japan, not couples.
- The gang splits up into pairs for a scavenger hunt. Yuuki and Kotoko’s nearly get attacked by a wolf, but Tiny the dog and Irie the human save them.
- Naoki’s dad has a heart attack upon hearing his son will pursue a career in medicine and not business.
See those two girls running to the table, they just got of the set of La Blue Girl
Asuna’s Highlights
The thing I like about Itazura when compared to other rom-coms this season, is that there is always character growth and/or plot development in nearly each episode. And this episode was no different.
Character Growth: I found it interesting that Irie basically took Kotoko’s advice and has decided to become a doctor. In the past Irie would have basically brushed off the suggestion. It shows that their relationship is maturing, and not stagnant like the duo from Special A.
Kotoko’s fantasies keep getting better and better. This is definitely the main source of laughs in the show now. Not anything that buffoonic that Kin-chan does. This episode’s fantasy was one of my personal favs.
Nice twist at the end with the heart attack. This is also what makes the show feel like a soap opera at times. Nothing happens the entire episode, and then during final minute they throw you a bone to have you hooked to make sure you watch the following week. Having not read the manga, I’m not sure if his dad dies. But I think it would make things more interesting if he did. Then Naoki would have the guilt of “causing” the heart attack, and it would change his character completely.
Guess Irie still doesn’t like being touched…. by women
Kira’ Lowlights
Um… what’s up with Yuuki kissing Kotoko? If they actually showed this happening on screen, then it would definitely have been shouta-ish. Yeah I’m not a fan of 20 year olds hooking up with 7 year olds.
I found this episode to be one big fluff piece until the end. I mean it starts of with an interesting angle of Irie deciding to be a doctor, then goes off in a completely different useless story line. Then it becomes interesting at the end with the heart attack.
Another trend I’ve noticed developing with this show is too many uninteresting characters. First it was Kin-chan, now we have Sado and Mastumoto. I understand the roles they play within the show, but the characters are just too one dimensional. Let’s see some depth.
Also - have you noticed that even though 18 months to 2 years have elapsed since the start of the series, the character design for Kotoko and Kin-chan are the exact same. Teenagers change in 2 years.
Sweat? Are they doing more than just kissing
Final Thoughts: Solid not spectacular

hm. I thought the character design had changed, esp. for kotoko (she looked older).
also am I crazy in thinking that NAOKI kissed kotoko while she was sleeping and yuuki merely WITNESSED this?

Its not Yuuki who kissed her but Naoki..
That is according to the Manga comic book itself. Yuuki merely witnessed Naoki kissed Kotoko..Later on, Yuuki will ask Naoki about why he kissed Kotoko in the forest…
